How to measure your ring size?

Tips & tricks

Best time to measure your ring size

The best time to measure your finger is at the end of the day, when they are at their largest. Fingers change throughout the day and it’s best to use the largest measurement. Don’t measure cold fingers, at this point they can be at least half a size too small. If your knuckle is significantly larger than the base of your finger, measure both areas and choose a size in between.

Measure the right finger

Your dominant hand is usually larger, so be sure to measure the exact finger where you’ll wear the ring.

The ideal fit

A ring should slide over your knuckle with some resistance. It should come off fairly easily but shouldn’t be loose enough to fall off your finger.

Ring sizes differ by small increments, so you may fit comfortably in a few sizes. If you're between sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size. For rings with a wider band, we also suggest going for the larger size.

Option 1 - Measure an existing ring

Measure the diameter opening precisely in millimeters of a ring that you wear at the same finger you will be wearing your new ring on.

Use the chart below to determine your ring size.

Option 2 - Measure your finger

Use a non-elastic string or floss. Wrap it firmly around the base of your finger and mark where the ends overlap. Then, lay it flat against a ruler and measure the length in millimeters. This measurement is your ring size.
